My ancestors in Norway used juniper as an all-purpose antibacterial, burning it to cleanse the air, in poultices for injuries and as part of infection-healing salves, and the berries in soups and tea to fight virus and infections. At home I use it the same way, as well as in prayer. I made these wands from locally-grown juniper together with rosemary and sage, two other antibacterial plants.
